Many of you may not know that the Army Corps extended their 30 day window for comments about Rosehead Park to 60 days. Did you read that in the paper? No? Didnt think so. This should have been printed by at least the march 29th edition as the original window closed on the 28th. (I actually thought it was closing the 26th). Im sure it will make Wednesdays paper now as they will read this on my page. :P I had shut my page down to private for a few days but decided to open it back up as I immediately got 5 friend requests within the hour and realized there were people following my page besides the City dictators and their toady tabloid who were not on my friends list. Perry is filled with land owned by people who no longer live in Perry but have a vested interest here. Some have been in touch with me while others were just discreetly following my page... prolly unsure I will hold up and actually pull this out in the end. We have a very unique situation on our hands right now with our Council, and one that may not come around again for 20 years. We have two new council members that arent bought and paid for, and they cut strings as fast as the master and his puppets try to tie them. They honestly try to do right by the citizens. I have agreed with some of their decisions and disagreed with some. But at least I know their decisions were their own, and they were trying to act in the best behalf of their own distict, and they arent easily swayed by the self proclaimed VIPs. If we turn a third seat this August, the GOB system crumbles down within city hall, and if it happens by me being elected, I have a plan in place to make sure their puppet master on the outside of the hall loses his reign over our town as well. ROSEHEAD PARK IS NOT A DONE DEAL. While the GOB system can still pull rank at SRWMD, when a project likes this has to go before the Army Corps, they are unknown nobodies to them. Im sure background checks are being done on Lockwood, and they are searching high and low, backwards and forwards, and side to side for a connection to him so they can pull rank. Please be leary of those candidates handpicked by them and encouraged to run for a seat in our government. Please steer clear of more of the same. And my respect level for some of their current cronies and advocates has dropped to zero, as they took the mentality of IF I CANT BEAT THEM, I WILL JUST JOIN THEM. Sullivan made a plea a few months back in the paper in his role of Mainstreet member. It said something to the effect - People need to quit complaining. If you cant be part of the solution, dont be part of the problem. I pray those words resonated back into his own ears and hit home. We may not have stopped complaining Mr. Sullivan, but were working on a solution, and that solution doesnt include you. Maybe when he realizes he cant beat us, he will join us? Lol. Please share this link with those who do not have a facebook but are against this project. Its so much easier to sign a petition instead of mailing in a letter. All letters are still welcome and appreciated though. We are working hard. We are gaining momentum.
