Many of you probably are wondering why I work out so hard and post - TopicsExpress

Many of you probably are wondering why I work out so hard and post every minute of it so often...heres my story: when I was pregnant with Haley at 21 I was diagnosed with an auto immune illness...we didnt really know for several years if it was lupus or another type of auto immune, what I was told was to have no more children as with every child my illness would become more severe and that if the rapid pace in which it was taking over that I would be in a wheelchair at age 35. For those who know me will know that I dont really follow orders well unless it was by my parents growing up....so I went on to have two more children...once I delivered Blake I knew it was done and that he would be my last child as I had many complications. I began to realize a few years ago with one of my many moves that I was losing muscle strength pretty rapidly for my age and got concerned as I am a fighter and refuse to let my illness take over my body...we found out around the year 2000 that I had Sjogren Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome...very painful and exhausting illnesses that literally took a toll on me especially as a single mom doing it all alone! About a year ago I started Crossfit and absolutely loved it though it was very difficult for me. I started gaining muscle strength and realized how much stronger I had gotten when I was able to put my 9 1/2 Christmas tree up by myself without the help of lifting it. Since then my cousin Jay Reeder has inspired me and I have watched him transform from the same eating habits and structure that we had developed growing up into an amazingly healthy and fit lifestyle and he challenged me and didnt probably even realize it as I watched him daily not give up....today I can say mainly because of him and my competitive spirit to not let an illness get me down I am physically fit and gaining more and more strength every day. I am not on any medication against the Dr.s orders and have transformed my eating habits and lifestyle drastically. I am now able to run a 5K without stopping to breathe and can do multiple push-ups at once when I was unable to do one in the beginning of 2013. The races, training, and lifestyle is something that I am doing for my children and I and am on a mission to prove to myself that I can win this battle with the right lifestyle even if I walk through the finish line. It is a goal and challenge that I have set for me alone, not to compete, but to simply complete and move on up to the next challenge! Thank you all for supporting me and not getting irritated with my posts....your cheers and likes makes it that much more rewarding! Thank you, Jay, for challenging me with the races, for inspiring me to be where I am today, and for introducing me to new friends and support along the way! You have truly been a blessing! I am to date down 30.8 lbs and body fat is down by 13%. Anyone who wants to join let me know and we can work out and have fun together!
