THE HYPOCRISY OF MALLAM BOLAJI ABDULLAHI: Bolaji Abdullahi needs no introduction. He‘s the recently sacked Sport Minister. I‘m presently in Abia state doing my traditional marriage, ordinarily I shouldn‘t concern myself with our polity, but since God is having His way here and things are going so smoothly for me, I have decided to write about this man; a green snake in a green grass. Bolaji Abdullahi, from Kwara state, was sacked from the federal cabinet due to what some persons called “power play“, between PDP and APC. I have never hidden my dislike and suspicion for Mallam Bolaji. I have always seen him as fake, unserious and a mole, even before I got to know about his APC connection. In an interview he granted shortly after his removal, he confirmed my suspicion that he had always wanted to dump president Jonathan and his government. In other words, his spirit had departed from Jonathan a long time ago. But he held on. So why did he hold on?To plot Jonathan‘s downfall from within. To stagnate the ministry he was overseeing so that his party, the opposition, could have excuse to blackmail the government. To leak out sensitive information. To betray the government. To destroy the government. Buy why do people do such callous and evil thing?When president Jonathan cried out recently that he could have Boko Haram members in his cabinet without knowing, so many people misunderstood him. Atleast we can now appreciate his fear and worry then. Mallam Bolaji only remained in the cabinet waiting for the right time to “bomb“ the president. The “bomb“ here might not necessarily be an IED but anything that‘s caapable of bringing down the government can be said to be a “bomb“. Thank God for the eagle-eyes of the president‘s foot soldiers in Kwara state, but for them, Bolaji would have destroyed the government and quietly moved to the opposition where he belongs. The president was even hesistant in removing him as he believed that the man meant well for him and his government. But he was wrong. Dangerously wrong!
