Many of you will say today happy Halloween but your actually wrong about that. In the northan hemisphere today is Samhain the day of the dead (one of 2 days were the vail between worlds is thinnest) , the celibration of the death of the sun (meaning the beginning of winter ) & of course the hiding behind costumes to avoid demons and spirits. But as we hear are in the southern hemisphere and we are not entering the beginning of whinter today is the most hallowed festival of BELTAIN. The festival of birth and life. (The birth of the sun) otherwise known as May Day. It to is a day were the vail is thinner. Beltain is my particular favorite holiday and should be celebrated for what it is a joyful occasion to enjoy life and love, not be spent hiding your true self behind costumes!!! The time for trick or treating hear in Australia should be May 1st as that is when our Samhain truly falls on, however because the general population seems reluctant to admit that we are set apart from our northan countaparts as the yr is the direct opposite I am forced to allow the misrepresentation of the festival to give my daughter the chance to take part in what is an always looked forward to past time. So today instead of wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween i will instead say that I wish everyone light and love on this beltain, treasure youre family, friends and give warm wishes to any who cross your path as we enter the rebirth of the sun and the shinning prospects of the warmth to come.
