Many people are confused about what Messiah fulfilled at his first - TopicsExpress

Many people are confused about what Messiah fulfilled at his first coming. He has not fulfilled all of the “Towrah” (Mosaic Law) just yet. When he said in Matthew 5:17-19 that he came to “fulfill” the law and the prophets, many Christians assume that he fulfilled all of it already. But there is much more for him to fulfill at his second coming and all during the Millennium. All is not fulfilled yet! And furthermore, the word “fulfill” there in Matthew 5:17-19 is the Greek word “pleroo” which means “to cause to abound, to furnish or supply liberally; to carry into effect.” So what did he fulfill at his first coming? He came to restore the Priesthood back to Melchizedek instead of the temporary priesthood of the Sons of Aaron. And so that is the only thing that has actually changed! The Priesthood has been changed and the method for which our sins are atoned for is now permanent in eternity. But the rest of the Towrah (Mosaic Law) has not changed. The Sabbath and the Feasts are still in effect and they will be in effect for all the Gentile nations during the Millennium (see Zechariah 14:16-19). As a matter of fact, the New Covenant necessitates that the Towrah (law) is to be written upon our hearts and minds by the Ruwach (Spirit). If people don’t have the desire to obey his Towrah (laws), that is a pretty good indication that they are not under any “New Covenant” as they might suppose!
