Many people have been asking me to share what my siblings and I read at our fathers celebration of life. Here it is. We meant every word. ❤️ Hello everyone and thank you for joining us to celebrate the life of our father Harold. To know our dad was to love him. He made people smile. He would do anything for anyone. He worked hard. Too hard. And loved his family so much, especially our mother Karen who he absolutely adored through out their 32 years of marriage. We cant thank our mother and father enough for the warm and happy home they created for us. Our father was loved by so many. When he wasnt busy being mistaken for the dos xx worlds most interesting man he went to the races and spent time with his family and friends.... sometimes he even found time to scratch the occasional lottery ticket. If you were to close your eyes and picture our dad at any given moment chances are you will visualize him laughing and smiling. We have decided that our father worked twice as hard as any man would in the average lifetime making him not 55 but 110 years old. His sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile lit up every room he walked into. He befriended everyone. He was selfless. He gave everything he had and more to support his family and create a life for us that others could only imagine. We are so blessed and so fortunate to have been able to call this wonderful man our father. Over the past year our dad got to see both Katie and Jason get married. He was able to meet Jasons new family & step babies in myrtle beach..they adored him. After moving home I was able to spend many nights with my dad looking up funny videos, sharing laughs and doing Chinese prank phone call imitations which may sound ridiculous but it was our favorite thing to do - we all loved to laugh together. Our father spent his last moments on this earth surrounded by those he loved most including our beautiful mother, the three of us kids, his parents Harold Sr and our grandmother Kim, his brother Dave who just so happened to be his best friend, his sister in law Cindy and his niece Julia as well as his son in law Tim and daughter in law Kim. With this tragedy we are able to welcome home our dads brother Jeff who is our miracle- we are so happy you are here thank you Lisa for making this possible. At his side we spoke words of gratitude without an ounce of regret. He knew how much he was loved and that we were all there with him until the very end. He was able to take his final breath snuggled in our mothers arms and we know he wouldnt have had it any other way. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate our father and our friend. We can all learn something from this amazing life he lived - find something youre passionate about and give it your all- work hard but not too hard- say I love you to your loved ones every single day- smile and dont sweat the small stuff - be someone that people want to be around - If you find yourself getting frustrated ask yourself what would harry do? Likely the answer will be watch you tube videos of trucks stuck in mud until you forget why you were upset in the first place. Feel free to share any and all stories here this evening as well as write in our memory book afterwards. We miss you. We kiss you. We love you. Daddy.
