Many people have contributed to the success of the gasfieldfreemountain campaign so far. In recognition of our organisation, hard work and commitment the group has been presented with a Community Group Award by the Community Environment Network as most outstanding community based organisation, in recognition of contributions to the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie environment. This is a spectacular achievement, and an extra bonus is that the award came with a cheque for $200 to add to our fund, plus two bottles of wine....that, unfortunately, will be impossible to share with you all!! However we are organising a huge Celebration on Saturday 28th February (just before the State Election) at Kulnura Hall, to Declare the district GASFIELD FREE. Please put the date in your diary to come and join the Declaration, and the fun. As an integral part of our campaign we surveyed every occupied house in the district, and 98.2% of the 1221 respondents voted in favour of the district being gasfield free. This gives us a mandate for our declaration, and is a fantastic outcome for the district, its residents and its environment.
