Many people look in the wrong direction when attempting to find - TopicsExpress

Many people look in the wrong direction when attempting to find what makes life meaningful. If they would read the Bible and seek what God says, it would save them many heart aches. For example, when King Solomon, one of the wisest men to ever live, came to the end of his life, he looked back and assessed all the things that had attracted him. He wrote about all of his experiences in the Book of Ecclesiastes. He concluded that the quest of knowledge, pleasure, and wealth was vain. They provided no satisfaction or peace of mind. He concludes that loving and obeying God is the only way to have a meaningful and fulfilling life. When I was a young man there were many calls that lured me to follow them and I could have answered them. But my life had been saturated with biblical truth and I knew there was only one call to answer: to love and obey God. After 73 years of following Christ, and 63 years in the ministry, I have found a peace that passes all understanding and a joy unspeakable and full of glory. If I had ten thousand lives to live, I would give them all to Jesus. If there are any fellow pilgrims reading this and your struggling with the calls placed on your life, read Ecclesiastes and heed the warnings that Solomon gives. Answer the call to follow Christ and your life will be filled with meaning and significance.
