Many people place great value in worldly things as they travel - TopicsExpress

Many people place great value in worldly things as they travel this side of eternity. They build great wealth, toys and beautiful homes. Formerly Egyptian Pharaohs placed their attainables in their tombs so they would have them on the other side, of course a fallacy for those who know not God. But this afternoon I attended a funeral of a man of God, Pastor JL McAlister. As I passed by his casket (although his earthly body was there but not his spiritual one), to sit on the stage with several respectful pastors, lying next to him was his prized possession-his Bible. He read it, 6 to 9 chapters a day which would take him through it each year. I knew the importance of Scripture, but this scene was an observable moment I will never forget. Of all the things that he could have had placed in his casket, this was most important. He realized all worldly things are fleeting, and passing away. Loved ones, we are taking nothing with us to judgment but who we are according to the Bible. JL FOUND THE MESSAGE THEREIN-SALVATION! which is why it was so special! I encourage us all to value Gods Word like JL and on that day when we go before God we too can depend on the message as well. The the cross we uncover is eternal. Brother, you found the message and now you are enjoying not only its message but the Messenger-Jesus! Have a wonderful eternity, brother! Thank you for loving Gods Word so much. From this point forward I will enjoy it even more! We will see you soon as He calls! Enjoy true peace.
