Many people touch our lives. Today I attended a memorial service for someone who made a lasting impression on mine. Mr. Ozee was without a doubt my favorite elementary teacher. Walking into his class as a scrawny, hyperactive sixth grade girl, I didnt know what to expect. His mere presence was intimidating but the moment he opened the first Little House book & began to read to the class, he had me. I loved his class! I was challenged & inspired. I had found someone who understood my passion for reading. Make no mistake, I was in trouble....a lot! I had to write Speech is silver but silence is golden so many times I think I have permanent writers cramp but, I did it because I had earned it. Mr. Ozee was a great man. Great father, Marine, educator & friend. I will never forget his patience with a pesky girl with a love of books. I respected him & will honor his memory by thinking of him every time I open a book. Rest well Mr. Ozee. God bless.❤️
