Many school systems are rushing to build and create more STEM schools. True, we do need students to be proficient in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. But if they leave out the Arts, students lose a lot of the humanity, compassion, acceptance and creativity. So think about this: Science requires the creativity necessary to explore and look into the unknown. Technology requires the ability to invent, and create amazing things. Engineering requires the ability to design and implement. Math skills are highly enhanced via music education. Without the arts, the rest suffer. We should require all schools to have as quality an arts curriculum as they do academics.
