I have chosen this day, a day after the 1st of October, our Independence Day. I will do so to show my faith & duty in the Republic of Cyprus, although I do so with bitterness UNDER SUCH A CRIPLED ECONOMY. Swift actions are needed to ease the burden on the citizens of Cyprus, who feel betrayed by the state, its politicians & semi governmental bodies. ‘HOW CAN OUR STATE ASK US TO PAY MORE TAXES WHEN WE HAVE NO HOPE OF EARNING A LIVING UNDER THESE UNBAREABLE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS?” Talk is cheap actions are needed now: 1. Interest rates must fall to European standards, Cyprus is in the EU. If the Cypriot banks cannot offer this, then the Government must encourage foreign banks to come in (with our National interest in mind). 2. Utility and municipal charges and taxes must be reduced to cost +. The monopolies must stop, the Cypriot Citizen who is suffering and paying, now has priority. We have the right to fair market conditions, Otherwise there may not be any payable taxes next year. I sincerely hope someone is listening, and taking swift action
