Many years ago, Airfix produced plastic construction kits of Stingray and Fireball XL5, as premiums for ice lolly manufacturers. Later, they produced an Angel Interceptor which was recent;y re-issued with brand-new Spectrum markings. I happened to speak to a nice chap from Hornby Hobbies today (parent company of Airfix). To cut a long story short, the chap agreed that the Angel had sold very well (particularly when the price dropped to £2.99!) and I pointed out that it could do with re-tooling. I then went on to point out that next year is the 50th Anniversary of Thunderbirds and 2017 was the Anniversary of Captain Scarlet. I got the distinct impression that suggestions for such subjects might be looked upon more kindly than in the past. With modern CAD/CAM, it is far easier, quicker and cheaper to produce highly-detailed construction kits. If the management can be persuaded that an item will sell, they will produce it The Contact details are: Phone: 01843 233525 Email: customercare@hornby Address: Customer Care Hornby Hobbies Ltd Westwood Margate Kent CT9 4JX UK
