Many years ago I decided I wanted to learn to crochet so I could make me snow flakes for my Christmas tree. So I asked Mrs. Louise Voyles to teach me because she could crochet beautifully. I bought the yarn and the craft book and went to her house a few weeks before Thanksgiving for a lesson. I went two days in a row and thought I was catching on pretty good. Now Mrs. Louise a son Mike was married to my sister Sarah and a few days later Mike stopped by the house with a brown paper bag for me. Inside were crocheted snowflakes and they had been starched and were ready for my tree. Mama said to give you these that it was much easier to make them for you than to try to teach you something that you didnt have the knack to do . This was so kind of her because she could have just sent the thread and book back and told me I just wasnt teachable. Instead she knew how much I wanted those ornaments. Now I want to share these snowflakes with Mrs. Louises grandchildren, so gals and guys hit me up, they are on my tree right now but I want each of you to have a crocheted ornament by your grandmother Voyles and all of you will be home for the Voyles Christmas I know.
