Many years ago at another time when Brenda Sue had been very sick, - TopicsExpress

Many years ago at another time when Brenda Sue had been very sick, she had a meeting with Jesus that she told me about. I think to her at the time she thought she was going home to be with him, but he had other plans for her. She described to me the best she could the beauty she saw during her meeting and she told me that the Lord told her she was not ready, that she still had feet to wash. At the time I was not in a relationship with the Lord and I didnt quiet get it. In 1995 Brenda gave me one of the most precious gifts she ever could, my Bible. It has been through a lot of ups and downs with me, to many homes, and every deployment in the middle east. I have read it, studied it, written in it, and cried into it. She left me a written message in it on 6 Prayer Rules and simply the words Ezekiel 36:26. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh... This has become my go to verse for years. The one thing that Brenda understood about the Bible was that it was not just a book not just a story, it is an instruction manual on how to live your life centered in Christ. She understood and lived as a great Christ example for so many. She knew how to extend the Grace Jesus showed when he walked this earth. She understood that he died taking on our sins so that we might live in heaven with him one day. She understood that even though we continue to sin or turn our backs on the Lord that he is always there with us and waiting for us with open arms, ready to scoop us up like the children we are, the sons and daughters of the most high. A father that unconditionally loves each of us with all our brokeness, with all our faults, even while we continue to fall short he extends to us forgiveness and grace we so do not deserve. Brenda knew that it only took a mustard seed of faith to fall on fertile groud and that it would cultivate with love and guidance. She knew that it was never in her time but in his that those Christ called to him would come. She continued every day to share her love of the Lord with others, through visits, church, emmaus, and just as a life example. She was gentle and kind, and she was so very special to so many. She was a friend like no other, a very special friend to me. Our Allie and her had this crazy connection that few can comprehend and even I was at times envious of. This is the Brenda I knew and loved. She was an example of how to live well for Christ. She chose Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. She knew she was free to choose because of Calvary and she knew that if she commited her life this way that even on days of failure she could seek his grace. It was then that she could lay down and rest. She did just that too. She layed down her head one final time and then woke into the wide open arms of her saviour. Knowing no more pain nor hurt nor sorrow, just pure unimaginable joy and I can only imagine the smile upon her face when she opened her eyes and heard the glorious voices of the angles singing praises to her King. We will miss you here on earth our sweet Brenda Sue but my heart overpours with the happiness that we will meet again one day.She did her job here well and humbled herself many times washing the feet of others as a servant to the Lord. I learned through her what a relationship with the Lord truly was. I remeber calling her when I finally got it when I finally understood what it truly meant to wash feet and what it meant to have a relationship with him. I know as he is holding her he is wispering in her ear, well done my good and faithful servant.
