Many years ago before I was in the ministry, I was fighting the call of God on my life. I just did not want to preach because of all the obvious reasons: Single, female, inexperienced, no seminary degree...and the list went on and on. I really thought I could excuse myself from the call by letting God know how unqualified I was. But God was surely not buying any of my excuses, because He continued to give me dreams and prophetic Words that confirmed the calling to preach. I was going through such a struggle because I did not know where to start. How do people begin preaching and who will listen to you if no one knows your name? I had no answers to my questions until one day when I saw Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke walking through the lobby of a local Dallas hotel. I hastily ran toward him and said, Brother Bonnke! Can I have just 5 minutes of your time? What can I do for you?, he asked. Well, you see, I have this calling on my life to preach the Gospel. I have tried to run away from it and God just continues to give me confirmations that I am to preach. I just dont know what to do and I dont know how to begin. What should I do? He answered in his passionate, fiery voice, Young lady, if you have to go to the street corner to start preaching, then go to the street corner! Just go! I began to see myself standing on a street corner in downtown Dallas witnessing to people and I thought, I can do that! Yes, I can go to the street corner and just start preaching to people! I looked into his eyes and said, Thank you so very much for your time. I turned to walk away and he said, Just a minute, young lady, I see a great calling of God upon your life. Let me pray for you. He placed his hand upon my head and prayed that God would use me to preach the Gospel to the world. There was so much power coming forth from his hand that it literally knocked me to the floor. (Of course, this was a scene in the lobby of a hotel! I could hear people asking him if they needed to call a doctor and if I was okay. He told them that I was fine and told his assistant to pick me up.) When I stood up, he said, You are going to be just fine. He then walked into the elevator and I was left standing in the hotel lobby wondering what just happened to me! That night as I went to bed, I had one of the most glorious visitations from God. God showed me a map of the world and I heard his voice say, For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. I believe that we are the generation that God will use to usher in the greater glory! What Adam lost in Eden, Jesus restored at the cross! The glory of God is seen in the face of Jesus Christ and if Jesus Christ is living and operating in His people, then WE are carriers of His glory! For His glory is going to cover the whole earth through people from every nation!
