Maoist’s Hidden Agenda…. In the 90s, World Communist Movement experienced a major downfall. With the collapse of The Soviet Union, which was under the single-party communist regime for 73 years, and had led the World communist Movement, many communist pillars including European Communism crumpled. As a result, the aggressive communists were forced in live in a protective state. At present, only 2-4 countries are functioning a little on communist ideology. It is surprising that the communist ideology, which was criticized and which collapsed in other nations seeped in and developed in Nepal in the next decade. The democratic forces of the country who declared Nepal a republic with the same extreme Maoists are facing the challenges today. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that because the political parties and forces could not well understand the real intentions of the Maoists and their hidden agenda that the country is in a troubled state with the democratic movement in danger. The fact that the Maoists are trying to move ahead by crossing out the eternal principles of social development is apparent. The lunacy that power can be captured through deception, murder, violence and oppression is blinding the Maoist ideology. The Maoists who dropped down from power with the Army Chief controversy should primarily realize that civilian supremacy is actually the supremacy of law. Chasing supporters of other parties in the village, doing everything on their own will is not civilian supremacy; it is rather an unacceptable effort towards capturing power on the basis of illegal and unethical use of power. Truthfully, Maoist being a major party in the last CA election was also because of YCL’s hooliganism, terror and booth-capture. Also, people voted for the Maoists with the hope to bring an end to the Maoists’ terror. By keeping the Maoists out, the citizens did not wanted to live in terror every day. People also did not have the capability to live under Maoist terror even after they came to power, in addition to having lived that way during the 10-year war period. Maoists, who acted for violence with its cadres, and talks of peace with the international community, even after silently dropping down from power like an opportunistic character of an craft less drama still has its cadres in villages effecting order on people. Ironically, the Maoists who created chaos in the name of civilian supremacy are violating the human rights of the same civilians in name of separate vote. But in a nation claiming to be democratic, people who voted against Maoists, especially in villages, have not got to experience a single day of comfort, and the hope that they will get to do that in a future is no guarantee as well. It is, therefore, reveals that Maoists emerging as the majority party in the Constituent Assembly Election was a result of people surrendering against Maoists terror. There has been no decline in Maoists’ greed for single-party autocracy, which have fallen prey to extreme consumerism. They have still not been able to shed away the thought of capturing power through accumulation of arms, through war and mutiny, since they have realized that they cannot go for Stop Arms Movement. Despite realizing that chaos and unrest cannot free the country from the vehemence of expansionary politics and imperialism, we need not discuss a lot on the expectation of the Maoist leadership and their democratic commitment. Maoist Chairperson Prachanda’s Shaktikhor video tape and his several other speeches are themselves a written document proof for the same. In reality, we can see that the Maoist party did not enter the peace process for their commitment towards democracy. It has been verified that they reached the 12-point agreement with the mission to jump to people’s rule by using multiparty system as the tool. Prachanda’s justification and begging after the Shaktikhor video tape conspiracy and sharing of his preparation for revolution and local people’s government proves that he is still busy in the dual-play to enrage the already tense situation. Blinded by the so called People’s War, the Maoist should here understand that its size and power is not a result of the war, but is the product of its safe landing in peaceful politics. The commitment of the Maoists who leaped ahead with the election built hopes among the people. This same hope including their longing to be freed of the decade long people’s war gave way to the existing size and power of the Maoists. The power that the people have showered on them is not an award for their sabotage, cruel killings and oppression. To reap the seeds of revolution of People’s Republic in the land of democracy is sheer dishonesty on their part. Dualism, agitation in behavior and monopolistic in understanding, it is possible that the destination of the journey of power of the Maoists in Prachanda’s own words will end up like that of agitating forces of Peru, Turkey, Philippines, and Sri Lanka. If the present political situation is not handled well and the constitution is not written/given, no matter who Prachanda blames for his failure, history will blame only him and his party. This will remain a curse to him and his party. Jaye hos! Mangal hos!!
