Marathon #22 Update! Navajo Truck Station between Holbrook and Gallup, AZ Distance: 29 miles Whew, that was quite the day! The weather was in the teens this morning when Michael and I started around 7:00am. The majority of the day was trying to piece together the roads that hug Interstate 40. A lot of the side roads we have been taking have been remnants of old Route 66, but are not drivable sections. Despite the freezing temps and headwinds at around 20 mph all day, there was still some beauty to be seen in the snow-dusted desert. I had a phone interview with a radio station in Gallup this afternoon during my run. Because of the wind, I had to duck down into a ditch just to hear :). It was a little muddy and cold, but worth it. Im always thankful when someone picks up the story. We have to give special thanks to Andrea Pringle for letting us take her space heater. Without it, wed be freezing every night. That little thing is awesome. Unfortunately, we dont have electricity tonight, but do have a nifty generator thanks to Danielles dad.
