Marathon #24 Update: New Mexico State Line! Distance: 28.8 Miles New Mexico! Weve made it! This morning we woke up like popcicles since we didnt have access to any electricity while camping at a truck stop. It was below freezing in our trailer. Being so cold, it was difficult to get a good night of sleep and I think it affected my running this afternoon. I was definitely more sluggish than I have been over the past few weeks. I didnt have any people sign up to run with me today, but I did get an interesting running partner when a dog started to follow Mike and I about 2/3 of the way through the day. I gave him the rest of a root beer float I had bought a mile earlier, so we named him Root Beer Float. I didnt think Root Beer would run more than a mile with me before turning around, but to my surprise RB Float ran the next nine miles with me to the end. Danielle wanted to keep him, but I ensured her he could find a good home elsewhere :]. She was sad, but let him go after giving it some water and food. Tonight we should be much warmer since we have electricity at an RV park, so I expect to get a much better nights sleep.
