Marathon day I the garage yesterday. Always knew I had this issue to deal with on the Nova as spotted it when I first went to view it. At some stage in its life it appears it had a gearbox with an external linkage and some one had basically sliced the trans tunnel open to fit the gear leaver. Theyd then screwed and riveted in a fibreglass manual shift hump and then bolted the auto shifter to that. Contemplated how to repair it but in the end cut it all out and let in new metal as no way could I replicate some of the curves and shapes to patch it. Gotta prime and seal the underside today , paint the inside then make up a new shifter mount. A fun and games!
