March 2014: Birk’s Restaurant For a restaurant to not only survive but thrive for 25-years is amazing. To be included in their 25th year anniversary is an honour. It was a big event with excellent food and great company. I had Fresh Oysters in their half-shell, fat juicy Prawns, melt-in-your-mouth Filet Mignon, lollipop Crab Cakes, culminating Calamari and lots more. I even dared to try the Spinach Lemon Juice which I must say was just divine. I suppose that’s one way to get me to eat my greens ;) Chef Maurice, the brains behind the cuisine at Birk’s is a wonderful person and a great chef. A native of Guyana, Chef Maurice specializes in Cajun cuisine. A friendly and outgoing gentleman, and a great cook. Boy, who could ask for more.
