March 25, 2014 (9:19 AM KST) On Borrowed Time: Stress Tolerance (last part) Just off from night work. So far, so good. Healthy and strong. Stress less night shift and before we went off, our lead man handed a bag full of toiletries. Aha, ang taong di marunong ngumiti; may nakatagong bait. But that was after I saw some faulty products under his watch. Ha ha ha. So, siya yung stressed not me. At para seguro makabawi sa pagkapahiya, binigyan ako ng ibat ibang klase ng sabon, shampoo and tooth pastes. Ganyan talaga dito sa Korea. Importante ang kahihiyan. And out of shame, and perhaps stressed and depressed from ridicules, many resort to suicide. And Im inclined to believe, too much stress result to depression and consequently to suicidal tendencies. A lot of celebrated cases of suicides had been publicized like that of the former president and a CEO of a big conglomerate. So, ang stress at depression ay walang sinisino at pinipili. Anybody can be a victim of that negative feeling of low stress tolerance. Marami ding matatanda na sa sobrang stress at depression because their offsprings have neglected them, resort to suicide. The latest was a couple, in their twilight age, nagkulong sa kwarto at pinasingaw ang carbon monoxide ng charcoal na gamit sa pagpapainit sa bahay. Hay, buhay nga naman. Kaya hanggat maaari matuto tayong lumaban sa stress at depression. Otherwise, our minds become intoxicated at di tayo makapag-isip ng tama. Sa salitang kanto pa:Inis-talo Kung kahit anong bagay o kilos ng iba, kinaiinisan natin, we become stressful. Kaya tayo ang talo. Ang bigat ng loob ay nakadagan sa atin. And how can we afford to smile if we are stressed? Before its too late and we end up losers, we have to learn to divert our stress to other productive activities. Thats the only way we can fight stress and feel better. Lets all pray my dear friends here On Borrowed Time that we learn to live by any inconvenience and discomfort from within ourselves or from others. Bawal magpaka-stressed. Kasi nga bawal magkasakit. Lalong bawal makasakit. Pray. Pray. Pray. Sa halip na magpaka-stressed, magdasal. Lilipas din ang mga bagay na nakakapagpa-stress. I have learned from way back too long that many ill feelings are psychosomatic. Meaning, hindi lahat ng sakit biological or physical. Minsan, psychological. Nasa isip lang. Pwedeng ang dahilan ay sobrang stress. Let me end this series by offering a little prayer:Lord, alisin mo po sa amin ang ano mang bagay na nagiging dahilan ng sobra naming stressed. Bigyan mo kami ng malawak na pang-unawa at mahabang pasensya. Amen emmkorea
