Margie Triplett Fletcher 8/30/1928 9/23/2013 Margie Fletcher Lenoir, NC- Margie Triplett Fletcher went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care. She was born in Catawba County on August 30, 1928 to the late Horace Propst and Texie Mace Propst. Margie had taken the time to write some things she wanted her friends to remember about her including, she was proud that she finished Granite Falls High School and attended Caldwell Community College. Margie adored her family, she would always say they could walk on water and they didn’t have to know where the stones are. Margie was a charter member of Clover Baptist Church and later became a faithful member at Dry Ponds Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She worked at Frye Hospital and helped the hospital chaplain minister to families. Margie had lived the last 6 years at Lenoir HealthCare. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill “Wild Bill” Gilliland, John Gilliland, and Roy “Pudge” Gilliland; sisters, Susan “Poochie” Smith, and Frances “Pat” Stillwell. Margie is survived by her children’s father, to whom she was married for 47 years, Alvin Triplett; children, Byron Triplett and wife, Pam; Bobby Triplett and wife, Janice; Lenita Pope and husband, Tim; brother, Rhonda Gilliland of Granite Falls; sister, Sherry Hart and husband, Jerry of Claremont; grandchildren, Jason Triplett and wife, Nichole; Todd Triplett and wife, Wendy; Jennifer Taylor and husband, Jody; Amy Wendelborg and husband, Chad; Nichole Watters and husband, Chris; Ethan Pope and Austin Pope; great-grandchildren, Justin Triplett, Lauren Triplett, Griffin Taylor, Jake Taylor, Bethany Wendelborg, Natalie Wendelborg, Graham Watters, and Charlee Kate Watters. A home going celebration for Margie will be held at Dry Ponds Baptist Church on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 5:00 PM with Dr. Rick Crouse and Reverend Josh Dellinger officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 5:00 prior to the service. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Caldwell Hospice & Palliative, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
