Marigot Ice-cream. My first thought. Fruit, second. The market - TopicsExpress

Marigot Ice-cream. My first thought. Fruit, second. The market was right next to the dock with the dinghies. It worked only on Wednesdays. Great! They had everything and everything was tropical. Some people had stands, some just put a blanket on the floor and sold fruit. I chose a juicy pineapple, from the floor, of course. Then I realized how fruit was supposed to taste. The thing we get in the stores are not pineapples, I had no idea what I had been eating till then. I found ice-cream, Dutch Häagen-Dazs, yummy! No more nor less then four dollars, which is quite pricey for Croatian terms. I looked around me: Torn down palm trees, broken wires, piles of rocks, many sunk boats. Lenny’s remains. Dear Lenny left before our arrival and then disappeared. It was not pleasant to sail towards it, especially since we didn’t know where it was headed and moreover since we rarely managed to escape from even an ordinary rain cloud. But then, as I was looking at its traces, I was almost sorry we hadn’t met. I began to personalize it somehow. But I was soon awoken by the sight of the sunken ships in a completely protected port. What would have become of us if we met on the ocean? Nothing. Literally nothing. Only then I noticed the small town of Marigot. If it wasn’t for those nicely carved wooden decorations on the houses, I would think we were somewhere in the Mediterranean. Cute little town. No huge buildings, at least in the center of town, nicely arranged, with the cutest marina. Little restaurants, one after another, with terraces by the sea. What followed was a great search for Internet cafes, developing films, scanning, sending pictures and texts.
