Her whanau and Great Start became a winning combination almost 5 years ago when the Taita Titans playgroup that Marina’s family was developing, found a new home at the Great Start House and together they worked through supporting and guiding the parents on early childhood processes. Later Marina started her own business and with the help of Great Start, delivered the Incredible Years Parenting Program from the House at 5 Cooper Street, providing a crèche and welcoming environment to further meet the needs of community and the families attending. An active member of the Taita Timebank, nowadays Marina is often at Great Start sharing her skill of Mirimiri (massage) and from time to time the house provides the perfect place for Marina’s counselling work. Marina is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and being part of the Great Start Taita Board of Trustees.
