Marita Liulia & Co Swan Song premiere Oct 24-26! Eternity lives in every moment Swan Song, a stage performance directed by Marita Liulia, combines multimedia, dance and live music. Star dancers Minna Tervamäki and Ima Iduozee meet the musicians Tomas Djupsjöbacka (violoncello) and Ali Kesanto (electronic music). The visualization is by Liulia and Antti Kuivalainen and costume design by Teemu Muurimäki. Swan Song was inspired by ballets dying swans. A contemporary Swan meets a Snake, with dramatic consequences. The work raises the topical theme of encounters with strangers. Are strangers a threat or an opportunity, should we welcome or reject them, protect them or protect ourselves against them? The performance includes the premiere of the second part of Liulias Dance of Death trilogy. In this short film three generations of ballerinas (Vilma Kolehmainen, Minna Tervamäki and Marianne Möller) live out their dreams and face their fears. It is never too late to seize the moment in which eternity lives. Swan Song celebrates artist-director Marita Liulias 30-year career and the lifes work of Minna Tervamäki, one of the top ballerinas of our time. Swan Song has been in the making since 2010. Each of the artists in the work group steps outside their own comfort zone, i.e. does something they have never done before. Liulias motto is: The limits can only be found by experiment.
