Mark 11:24-26King James Version (KJV) 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. the first part of this scripture instructs the reader to BELEIVE in order to receive the things prayed for. but the second part is what people seem to have a problem with. FORGIVE which is a shadow the word MERCY. one of the key virtues we as Christians are told we must have. forgiveness, or mercy is one of the fruits of the spirit. and a key component of our own salvation and redemption. without forgiveness, man would never be able to stand before good . the shame of sin would be too condemning. when verse 25 calls us to stand in HIS presence ,AND WHEN YE STAND PRAYING.. GOD created man in HIS image. and shame is not a part of GODS image character ! therefore no man should be shamed, who seeks forgiveness. ROMANS 8:1 King James Version (KJV) 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. since GOD did create us in HIS image HE goes even further. and ask that even if a man doesnt ask for forgiveness, we forgive him anyway and do not carry it in our hearts. unforgiveness, being an element that can harden the heart... brothers and sisters, how can we who needed and received mercy, or forgiveness, not freely give mercy and forgiveness? we claim to love because HE first loved us.. well, HE also forgave us first. so shouldnt we forgive others?
