Mark 4:38-40 says, And he was in the hinder part of the ship, - TopicsExpress

Mark 4:38-40 says, And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? We all experience storms of life, maybe not like the disciples on sea when a storm comes, but we experience storms in different forms. Here we are, sailing along in life, and then something unexpected and violent occurs. Maybe we lose our job, or worse, the loss of a family member and we start to give up hope. It is often during these storms, as we see the waves coming down on us, that we ask ourselves, Where is God? Sometimes the waves hit us so hard, and we keep getting tossed around by them, that it feels like God isnt paying attention, or that He is sleeping on the job. In the above scripture, When the disciples woke Jesus up, He immediately calms the winds and the sea, and then ask His disciples, Why are you afraid? Why are you afraid when I am with you? James 1:2-3 says, My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James tells us that these storms come into our lives, so that we can learn to trust God, and become even stronger Christians. No matter what storm you are in, Jesus is in the boat with you. No matter how bad the storm is, how dangerous the waves, or how close to death you may be, He is there, and He has the power to save you from whatever you face. He is with you, and He is asking you to have faith that He will get you through the storm, and He will make you better, and stronger because of it. Remember God is there through EVERY storm. Remember there is church tonight at the Upper Room beginning at 7:00pm. We have been having great services!! Spend extra time in prayer for our Pastor Roy Scates as he prepares for a Word from God!! Hes been preaching under the anointing of the Holy Ghost and challenging us to draw closer to Christ! Be Blessed!
