Mark McClafferty presents SILENT SOLDIERS, Rudy Cardenas, Song Pamela Edwards McCalfferty ift.tt/1zfL2pm, ift.tt/159zaMR Best known as a season 6 American Idol finalist, Rudy Cardenas has taken that experience and platform to share his talents with fans all over the country. With over 10 years in the LA music scene, Rudy Cardenas has made his mark on the industry with gritty, powerful, yet undeniably beautiful vocals reminiscent of a young Steve Perry. Graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Vocal Performance, Rudy has taken his studies in the Rock, Classical, Jazz, and Latin genres to create a sound all his own. He works relentlessly in the LA session scene lending his vocals to TV and film projects like Family Guy, Modern Family, Reel Steel, Spiderman and more. Rudy has had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with such acts as BabyFace, Take 6, Stevie Wonder, David Foster, Lionel Richie, Harry Connick Jr., and Robin Thicke. He’s also lead singer for Journey Tribute Band Lights. Rudys life long friend and Army vet, Jake Parker, served two tours in Afghanistan. Rudy feels great pride in what Jake went through to protect this country. He has witnessed first hand how difficult it is for loved ones to assimilate back into society. “I feel a sense of pride in what Jake’s done. I admire his bravery. Although serving in the military was not my path in life, I hope in some small way that by singing SILENT SOLDIERS, I am showing my thanks to Jake and all those who serve and have served our country. Pamela Edwards McClafferty is a bestselling novelist and award winning producer. Although she majored in music at the University of Arizona and sang professionally, touring the United States, appearing on Tv shows like the Tonight Show and recording an album, she ended up finding her home behind the scenes with her writing and ultimately producing films and comedy specials. It wasn’t until she created the musical, Artland (Book & Lyrics) collaborating with Grammy Award Winner Stanley Clarke that she was encouraged and influenced by him and jazz pianist/composer Sunnie Paxson to return to her musical roots. SILENT SOLDIERS is her first recording available to the public, a tribute to her father, John U. Edwards, a Veteran of WWII. “We think we know those closest to us, but there is that place where many loved ones bury their thoughts to lay dormant and hidden for years.” It wasn’t until Pamela wrote Silent Soldiers that her father talked about his active duty on the USS President Pierce which was torpedoed and sunk in 1942 by a German Submarine off North Africa. The American Veterans Center gave a voice to the SILENT SOLDIERS, like her father, and to Pamela’s mind became the perfect pairing with SILENT SOLDIERS song. “The mission of the AVC is to guard the legacies and honor the sacrifices of all American Veterans. Through oral history preservation, educational programs and civic events, we pass their stories on to the next generation so that they are never forgotten. . . .“Bringing the legacy of the Greatest Generation to the latest generation” Pamela talked it over with her partner and husband, Mark McClafferty. Mark’s father William fought side by side with his fellow shipmates on board the U.S.S Laffey DD 724 in one of the pivotal battles of World War II off of Okinawa, Japan. “As a child and a young man, my father never discussed the events of that day. It wasn’t until the State of Delaware began recording the stories of its brave veterans that I fully appreciated what my dad had been through during his military service.” McClafferty said. Once Pamela and Mark decided to support the American Veterans Center, they assembled their team of artists. Good friend, Michael Parnell a wonderful arranger and pianist recommended, Grammy Award Winning Mixer, Tom Weir, of Studio City Sound. Michael and Tom recommended Tim Pierce at guitar (s) and mandolin and Matt Laug at drums. It was a fast recording schedule and everyone worked hard to make sure SILENT SOLDIERS was completed for the AMERICAN VETERANS CENTER. Michael, Tom , Tim and Matt were a rare group. So talented, with kind hearts and great senses of humor. We are lucky to call them our friends. The only thing we regret is we didn’t help ourselves to Michael Parnell’s chill. . . .next time.. . . All of us encourage all of you to give the SILENT SOLDIERS of our land a voice by supporting the AMERICAN VETERANS CENTER. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Country Radio _______ FB: r-js/1x2Z0Lv / TW: r-js/XvfXBw / Listen Live r-js/1dOIQ18 #countrymusic #taylorswift #blakeshelton #carrieunderwood #ladyantebellum #jasonaldean #mirandalambert
