Mark Taylor - Roanoke Times - November 9, 2013 What new initiatives yet remain? In Virginia, plenty of hunters will point at the ban on Sunday hunting as a major recruiting obstacle. Its hard to argue with that assertion. The Sunday hunting ban, of course, is an issue that must be handled by the Virginia General Assembly. For years the DGIF took a hands-off attitude regarding the ban, but recently agency board members have been more vocal in their calls for legislators to reconsider lifting, or at least easing, the ban.
