Market Facilitator X 2 The above mentioned position exists in the World Vision Lesotho – Berea District. Interested persons are invited to apply. General Description Market Facilitator will be responsible for implementation of the value chain component of the FEC project. The incumbent will be familiar with abroad cross-section of activities, resources, and techniques associated with the development and implementation of the local value chain development model. The incumbent will have a working knowledge of and tangible experience in program planning and implementation. Reports to: Project Coordinator. Duration: Four (4) Years Major Duties and Responsibilities Take ownership for the delivery of a robust agricultural marketing plan ensuring that there is a measurable impact on identified agribusiness market and project growth targets. • Research successful market strategies Establish, coordinate and integrate agriculture production and market databases and develop information systems to support linkages with the market • Planning and Development Remain current on policy and regulations governing the implementation of the FEC project. Ensure all product standards and certifications (local/state) are secured and maintained. • Facilitate Community Partner Meetings Facilitate planning meetings with partners for the coordination of the FEC project. • Bolster Marketing Strategies Develop marketing materials (newspaper, collateral material, promotional materials, etc.) to encourage purchase of agricultural products from the FEC farmer groups. Assess the best avenue for distribution of IEC materials and will deploy materials as appropriate. • Support Value Chain Development Solicit and secure participation of local farmers, agencies, and craft vendors for the FEC project. The facilitator will conduct summits with localfarmers/private sector vendors and suppliers as needed to develop commitments and partnerships for participation in PPP alliance. Assist in strengthening of market linkages for agricultural products from target communities • Other Duties Represent the FEC on relevant committees, taskforces, fairs, etc., in order to promote coordination and collaboration with other stakeholders and relevant efforts whenever possible. Participate in relevant trainings and workshops to remain current on mentorship community outreach techniques, specific to community-based programming. Maintain programmatic accountability for program activities including data collection for evaluation, recordkeeping of activities, and the completion of all necessary quarterly progress and year-end reporting Provide regular updates to the FEC Manager as requested, regarding project progress. Work with evaluation staff to define the scope and methodology of project evaluation. Performs other relevant duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social/human services, Agribusiness, agricultural economics, Statistics, or closely related field. • Three years of relevant professional experience working in a private agency or non-profit corporation specifically in program agribusiness planning and implementation, or related field. • Ability to work a flexible work schedule depending on assignments and to travel within and outside the county to attend meetings and conferences. • Oral and written English preferred.
