Marley Castagnet’s first single is called “Wifey.” It was produced, written and performed entirely by Marley himself in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Although Marley’s other songs take on more profound content, “Wifey” is one of the “feel good” tracks celebrating the finer things in life. Ironically, the song was written after a bad break up with a former girlfriend, but is mainly about simply finding that right type of girl where the connection is undeniable. Marley began rapping and producing intensively, and at 20 had produced his own demo and was quickly asked to perform at all Sydney’s hotspots. From Cave Nightclub at Star City Casino, to Gas and RnB Superclub in Fox Studios, Marley was making an impact on what was a somewhat niche market in Sydney at the time. He was featured in Urban Hitz Magazine, and was in the Rising Heat section of Request Magazine. Not long after, his song “Play My Music” was released by Central Station Records, featuring on a Compilation album Dj Carl Alley’s “The Soul Controller” which went on to sell over 25,000 copies He spent the next few years living in L.A, New York and Miami, recording with local artists and gaining exposure. Marley thought to himself if he was going to be the best, he had to measure up with the talent that was coming from the U.S. With that experience, Marley now brings his music back to Australia with one goal in mind: worldwide recognition. ‘Wifey’ by MARLEY CASTAGNET will be released 4th of Nov 2013
