Marloth Missive October certainly has been an exciting month! It started off with the shocking news that many of the animals that are the reason we love Marloth Park so much, were going to be removed for trophy hunting. While most of us ran around like chickens with their heads chopped off, wondering what we could do about this, two people decided to act instead of talk. Lorinda Steenkamp and Pat Willmans rolled up their sleeves and like that little guy in the Old Testament who slew the giant, got the job done! All MP property owners owe these two heroines a huge debt of gratitude. If we were a small town in the USA, wed honour them in a big parade down the main street! I know that agreements still need to be signed and that there are still many things that can go wrong before the inks dry on those documents, but it certainly FEELS like a giant step has been taken and an important battle won. Most importantly, our two heroines have shown us that we CAN, proving that its not the size of the dog in the fight that determines the outcome, but the size of the fight in the dog! Whats next. How about we tackle the greedy corporate giants who would turn the Wild Frontier into a giant open cast mine? Or finally getting effective gate security? Bring on the next battle! We know we can win any fight now, with our two Iron Ladies at the head of the collumn!
