Marooned A ship on the ocean deep Is afloat upon a sea of blue She was the Majestic Mary Jane was all I knew Suddenly she grazed upon the sharp rocks Sending sparks down below As a buzzard sounded high then low Everyone scurrying about as if insane Trying to hurry and get off of this thing As this beauty they called the Majestic Mary Jane Began to sink to the depths below With a life vest on I began to float As I did watch down she did go Where I was I did not know Scared of drowning or being eaten alive I closed my eyes and began to dream Of a place covered in warm white sand And once again being upon the land I could feel stinging upon my legs and feet As I slept wrapped in a blanket of wet As I awoke the relentless waves seem to be pushing me Towards the most enchanting beach my eyes had ever seen With white sand and palms all around I could finally plant my feet upon the ground Underneath a moon so full and round A heavenly spot light shining down Just then I thought I heard a lowly sound Now standing on white sandy ground This horrid ocean was all I could see Scared and all alone Without a clue where I could be The sound seemed to be whispering to me As I heard to my surprise On this night I thought would be my demise A soft voice whistling in my ear With a warm breeze was very clear As it seemed to say you are no longer bound to me Fly, fly, far away for I have set you free Spring Pitts 12/22/2014
