Martha Sullivan :The Mayor actually tried to change the law this past June, but couldnt get the Cit Council votes. Most likely for this wedding -- the City now alleges that the Mayor approved an exemption for religious reasons -- but this was the very reason he used in June for changing the law. So hes just making shit up and the City bureaucracy is participating in the coverup -- which is ALWAYS worse than the crime. Animal Defenders International ADI has asked how an abused elephant, owned by Have Trunk Will Travel, was allowed to perform at a wedding ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa when a city prohibition is in place. ADI is in communication with the City to find out what went wrong and are asking Hyatt to adopt a no wild animals policy. We will keep you informed on progress.
