Martin Luther king Jnr once said: we must accept finite disapointment, but we must never lose infinite hope At times I wonder hw Nigeria found herself in dis state? Any slightest threat 2 d price of oil, our economy wil b having sleepless nights. D Fed govt hs initiated sme Austerity measures. But this is liking 2 treating d symptoms rather than d cause. D cause of dis terminal economic illness of over dependence on oil is d refusal 2 effectively deversify our productive base all dese yrs. 4get all d political statements & noise abut d largest economy in Africa. Our economy is in a sorry state. Yes, an economy dat is standing on one leg which is oil is obviously nt normal. Unfortunately, dat leg seems 2 b tired & weak, and dis is visible in d sorry state of our economy whnever deres an appreciable decline in prices of crude oil. lookin back at successive past leaders includin Present GEJ who has ruled 4 d past six yrs, we hav evry reason 2 b dissapointed. Dat Nigeria is still importing fuel or her refineries are nt workin well or failure 2 invest massively in renewable energy source and a lot of other areas whr past & present leaders hav failed is mor dan enuh reason 2 b dissapointed in leaders dat seems nt 2 hav a clear vision & direction 4 our country. Dnt 4get in a hurry dat d past Nigerian leaders so far is equal 2 past military rulers + past PDP civilian presidents. However, we must never lose infinite hope in our beloved country. One sure way 2 hold on 2 dis hope is to empty ourselves of d burden of tribal, regional & religious sentiments & thereafter deploy our weapon of mass destruction; our votes, to uproot bad leaders & destroy bad governance in dis forth cumin election. Our hope is our greatness & our future. And as long as we can kp it alive & work 2geda even as we share a common vision of building our nation, dat hope wil surely make d dream of a better & greater Nigeria cum alive.
