Martin Odegaard is enjoying his first day as a Real Madrid player today, despite Barcelonas very best efforts to prevent it from ever happening. Barça tried to torpedo the Norwegian starlets move to Real Madrid, even after the player had finally decided on Los Blancos. The Catalan club did its best to create another Neymar debacle, but they did not get their way this time. Azulgrana execs remained in contact with Stromsgodsets directors right up to the very last minute to offer them a deal to prevent Odegaard making the move to Real. They intended to match Real Madrids monetary offer with the condition - an obligatory one in light of the FIFA sanction - that the Norwegian outfit would enjoy Odegaards presence for another year, until Barcelona could return to the transfer market and secure the services of the youngster. However, Stromsgodset informed Barça that the deal was done and that there was no changing Odegaards decision to play for Real Madrid. The deal went through in the end and the 16-year-old will wear Reals colours from now on, in spite of the Barça directors attempts to prevent the Nordic wizard from heading to Valdebebas at all costs.
