Martin shooting suspect captured; one victim dead A suspect sought in connection with a shooting that sent three people to the hospital has been captured, and one of the gunshot victims has since died. An updated new release from the Martin Police Department states that Marcus L. Easley, 25, of 334 N. McCombs Street in Martin has been formally charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of second-degree murder. According to a Martin police report, at approximately 11:51 p.m., Monday, January 5, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at 126 South Davis Street in Martin. Upon arrival, officers found two men and a woman inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. All three of the victims were attended to by medics from Martin Fire Department, Weakley County Ambulance Service, and Martin Volunteer Community Hospital, before being flown by helicopter to multiple trauma centers, where they were placed on life support, but one of them later died as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting. The victims are: · Trista Canady, 28, of Gleason, who remains in critical condition at the MED in Memphis; · Aquincy Dickson, 27, of Dresden, formerly from Bolivar, who is listed in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville; · And Corey Williams, 33, of Dresden, who died from a gunshot wound Tuesday afternoon at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. A manhunt was launched for Easley, who was located on Hyndsver Rd. in Martin around 4:20 p.m. and arrested during a traffic stop without incident. According to Martin P.D. Capt. Don Teal, a motive has not yet been determined and the case is still under investigation. During his arraignment in Weakley County General Sessions Court on Wednesday, Judge Tommy Moore set Easley’s preliminary hearing for Wednesday, January 14. He is being held without bond at the Weakley County Detention Center in Dresden.
