Mary Etta Batchelor, 83, passed away, Friday, September 20, 2013. She was born July 22, 1930 to the late Pete and Mary Bennett Snipes. Mary Etta was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed staying active in her church, Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness and Nashville United Methodist Church where she was a member of the “Special People Organization”. She retired from Coopers Elementary School in 1988 where she served as a Teacher Assistant. She was preceded in death by sister, Margie Rice and brothers; Sydney and Paul Snipes. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 63 years, Raymond Batchelor, three sons; Terry (Wanda), Sam (Rhonda) and Mark Batchelor (Tiffany), one sister-in-law, Peggy Snipes, grandchildren; Fallon, Sarah, Meghan, Meredith and Tallis Batchelor, Adam Ellis, and one great-grandchild, Madison Ellis. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Pastor Ralph Brown and Pastor Vernon Potter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
