Mary, did you buy hay from Doug? If so, Ill buy a copy of the analysis from you. Just had other stuff to do this weekend couldnt get out and back for the corer. Next weekend is booked too. Have to get Sams shoes put back on. What a pain!! KC Annison shed some light on my bahia problem.. My horses just dont eat it well. Lots of waste. She has 300 acres of bahia and bales it for cattle hay, then buys Bermuda for her horses! She said bahia has a tangy taste some horse just dont like. She then picked a piece to taste with seed heads and sure enough it has a tang to it. Also, bahia needs to be cut every three weeks when used for horse hay which she says is labor intensive. It becomes hard to digest for horses when it gets older than that. She says some horses like it fine and do well on it. It sure is easier to find. I wish mine preferred it! I took Chance, my hard to load horse, to KC for a couple of lessons to sort out the loading issue. She got his number really quick and had him loading calmly in no time! She has really good feel and timing! Just in case anyone reading this needs help with their horse, I would highly recommend her! Not sure if KC is on FB , but if she is, maybe someone could share this post with her. She knows a lot about horses and hay too.
