Masons port removal went well. He was a little sore, but was back to himself by the next day. On Friday he has his next CT scan. We wont have any results from the scan for a few days. Luckily the CT scans are easy. Only 1 little iv in his hand and thats only for the contrast. He doesnt need to be sedated, which is my favorite part! He gets a little freaked out being strapped down but once he realizes that its like a little ride into a spaceship he calms down and talks through it. During his last scan, which only takes about 5 minutes, they had the movie Frozen on and he was perfectly content. When they finish the scan he gets to pick out prizes out of the treasure chest and reminding him of the treasure chest is anyways a great way to distract him. After this scan, hell have an MRI sometime in December (which he will need to be sedated for) and well finally have some real results on whether the chemo worked or not. Crazy to think that in 2 months, it will have been 1 year since we found out Mason was diagnosed with cancer. So lets pray for a nice, easy, clean scan on Friday!!! Pray he doesnt panic too much, lays still enough to get good pictures, and the results come back negative again.
