MassDOT warns drivers to stay safe on the roads SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – As of noon Tuesday, MassDOT has stopped all construction projects on mayor highways, and if you’re driving on I-91, you’ll see electronic signs reminding you of the Winter Storm Warning that will affect our roads tomorrow. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency has issued a travel advisory, asking people to get to their Thanksgiving destinations Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning because of the potential storm. If that’s not possible and you do have to travel tomorrow, you should plan ahead by giving yourself extra time to get to your destination. When you’re on the road, experts recommend keeping enough distance between you and the car in front of you since the roads could be slippery. Jovan Campbell of Springfield told 22News drivers just have to remember driving conditions will be different than usual. “You have to be a little cautious out there. It’s the holiday season and people are traveling with their kids. Keep it safe, be cautious, and have a good time,” he said.
