Massive Reconciliation Forum Expected In Nimba County -Senator Gurpee Unveils Amidst hullabaloo among some members of Nimba County Legislative Caucus and some defeated candidates in the 2011 elections, Senator Thomas S. Grupee has unveiled that massive reconciliation gathering is anticipated to take place in Nimba County. Speaking to legislative reporters on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, Senator Grupee said reconciliation plays a pivotal role to move the development drive of Nimba County and Liberia at large. According to him, the internal wrangling among senior citizens of the county is unhealthy for Nimba’s progress. Senator Grupee stated that disunity and bitter exchanges cannot profit the county and its people. He stressed the need for all Nimba citizens to refrain from practices that have the ability to stall the county’s development agenda. The Nimba County newly elected Caucus Chairman pointed out that the peace and reconciliation gathering is expected to take place shortly. He urged all members of the caucus to forget about what have occurred (bitter exchanges) and open a new page for reconciliation. Senator Grupee said disunity cannot move the development drive of the county forward, but brings retrogression. He asserted that reconciliation gathering is anticipated to bring ‘Nimbians’ from all walks of life to reunite. Speaker further, he said Senator Johnson has congratulated him for his preferment as Caucus Chairman. He promised to work with the former caucus chair emeritus at all times. Senator Grupee said Representative R.M. Tingban has been appointed at Co-Chairman of the caucus base on the agreement prior to the election. According to him, the agreement indicates that any lawmaker who contests and loses will deputize the Chairman proper. He added that his legislative colleague has accepted the post and promised to work with him.
