Master Fuad Koichi Honda, Japanese Muslim brings life to Arabic calligraphy. Fuad Koichi Honda, native Japanese Muslim, born in 1946, professor at Daito Bunka University in Japan. known round the world as one of the world’s top contemporary Arabic calligraphers. He has won many awards for his work, including the International Arabic Calligraphy Contest. His most famous works of calligraphic art use passages from the Koran as their basis. Master Fuad Honda: “I started learning Arabic forty years ago. Reading the Koran in Arabic inspired me to create artworks with calligraphy as their central motif. Later I embraced Islam in order to better feel the essence of this faith and to feel God. My works are a Japanese style of expressing Islam and Islamic culture.
