Match Report: Blackpool Sunday 7th July 2013 Check out the Sunday La Liga & Sunday 6s Night League Tables @ playfootball.net/blackpool/players_lounge Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Real Sociedad 12 v 8 Espanyol Top Scorer: Ryan Bradley (5) M.O.M: Andy Graham Real Sociedad put in yet another winning performance tonight as they managed to scrape the victory against a young Espanyol side. The score line does not reflect how close this game actually was. Espanyol took this game right down to the wire tonight. In the first half Sociedad just weren’t at it and couldn’t get going. However In the second half this was a completely different story and began to play how we know they can. The game was very close until the later stages of the game where Socieded managed to scrape a lead and hang on to gain the 3 points. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Deportivo 15 v 8 Malaga Top Scorer: Evans (7) M.O.M Lewis Rae On paper this game was going to be a walk in the park for Deportivo tonight, this hype around the game seemed to take a effect on Deportivo who started very slowly conceding early which game Malaga a huge burst of confidence and they began to believe they could do it. Unfortunately as the game went on Deportivo came into their own and started playing football like they normally do. In the end Deportivo just physically out played them and managed to walk away with the game. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Osasuna 6 v 18 Athletico Madrid Top Scorer: Chris Porter (6) M.O.M Steve Broom (Athletico Madrid) Athletico Madrid maintained their 100% unbeaten record in the Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA after another win over Osasuna to take them to 3 wins out of 3 games and hold the 1st place position. Last season’s Champions have been prolific as ever in the division scoring 54 goals and have tightened up their defence, conceding on average just 6 goals a game. Talisman Chris Porter took his tally to 21 goals for the season after banging in 6 tonight and taking him up to 1st Place in the Goal Scoring Charts. Osasuna, who went into the game with a 100% record, can’t be too disheartened by the defeat but must look for a CB in the Summer transfer market, as they have now leaked in 42! That’s no good for a team who are looking to break into the top 4 this year. Sunday Night Spanish Primera BBVA Racing Santander 13 v 10 Sevilla C.F Top Scorer: Karl Holmes & Adam Poppleton (5) M.O.M James Singleton (Racing Santander) Racing Santander and Sevilla went head to head tonight in this mid table clash which could of took either team up to 2nd place in the division. Sevilla C.F have looked good so far this season after a convincing win over Malaga last week and went into this game against an in-form Racing Santander side lead by experienced manager James Singleton. With both teams having the ability to score, it was more about who could keep the door shut up at the back. Tonight it was Racing Santander who did just that thanks to another outstanding display by Goalkeeper & Player/Manager for Racing Santander James Singleton. Singleton saved his side time after time tonight and with the combination of fire power up top for his team they went on to grab all 3 points and climb to 2nd in the league to keep the pressure on Athletico. Sevilla however drop to 5th Place, which keeps them in the mixer for the European Champions League Spots. Sunday Night 6’s League Colonel Getafe 6 v 4 Murder on Zidane’s Floor Top Scorer: Andi Whitworth (2) M.O.M Andi Whitworth (Colonel Getafe) Colonel Getafe claimed their first win tonight since joining the elite Sunday Night 6s League and Gaffer Joe Rooney couldn’t be happier with his side. With star player Patrick Gwiliam absent from the side, Rooney made necessary changes to go all out for the win against joint bottom side Murder on Zidane’s floor. With free role player Andi Whitworth finding space in between midfield and defence he was able to get on the score sheet several times and pick up the MOM award to get his team all 3 points and climb to 4th in the table. It was the first of 2 games for Murder tonight and were unfortunate not grab at least 1 point from this game. Sunday Night 6’s League Six Offenders 15 v 4 PlayFootball 6s Top Scorer: Max, Six Offenders (9) M.O.M Max (Six Offenders) New boys PlayFootball 6s were taught a lesson tonight against in form Six Offenders who have now secured themselves a very respectable 3rd place in the Sunday 6s League. Six Offenders who had just gave Murder On Zidane’s Floor a 23-3 hammering went into this game with the same intention. PlayFootball 6s need a few weeks to gel as more new signings were introduced including home grown talent Angel Garack and Joaquin Lopez. But this game was all about Six Offender’s very own new signing, Max as he doubled his tally for the evening making it 18 in 2 games tonight meaning he flew straight upto 3rd place in the scoring charts! If Six Offenders can carry this form into games against the big boys White Eagle and Sweet 6s, they may be more than just 2 teams fighting for the title next season!
