*****Match Report***** The latest round of the Sea Match Super League took place last night at Steamer. Yet again fantastic conditions greeted the anglers, with nothing more than shorts and T-Shirts required. Unfortunately the fish obviously didnt think the conditions were that great and decided to go on their summer holidays! Just 97 fish were caught totaling 2202cm. Scad dominated as expected, but the night was stolen by Lee Roberts who had a fantastic Undulate Ray of 13lb measuring 96cm, our longest ever fish in any of our matches over the years. To add to the glory he actually had a double shot of Undulates, the 96cm fish and a smaller one of 31cm on the same rig!! Not a bad cast!! Another mention must go to Jack Cairns who managed 3rd in his zone with a length of 108cm. Jack is a current member of the England Junior team, and by far the youngest angler on the night, so a big well done to Jack, a great result mate. On the England front we also had Becky Adams grace us with her presence, as per usual she gave Graham Woods a lesson in angling beating him 114 to 56. Well done Becky. We had an overseas winner on the night, he clearly got lucky on the night with a massive ball of fish in front of his end peg, but well done (begrudgingly) to Darren Newland who came out on top and scooped the £100 overall winners prize beating a top, up and coming young angler by just one fish. Results: Overall Winner - Daz Newlands - 266cm Zone A: 1st - Tom The fish slayer Bagnall - 245cm (Quality angling by this bloke) 2nd - Aj Rabbets - 141cm 3rd - Jack Cairns - 108cm Zone B: 1st - Mat Fin - 222cm 2nd - Lee Roberts - 200cm 3rd - Longest fish - Lee Roberts 96cm Undulate 2nd longest - Matt Finn - 43cm Smoothound Well done and thank you to everyone who fished, the match was, as always, fished in a very light hearted atmosphere with plenty of banter. Even Mr Clark mad an appearance, but if he mentions a certain red fish again he can stick it where the sun dont shine!! ;-) See you all at the next one.
