**Match Report_Ladies2s** Saturday 22nd November Harlow2’s V Phoenix3’s Home at Leventhorpe Leisure Centre Harlow Ladies2’s once again won 7-0 against only an eight man Phoenix3’s at Home on Saturday. Harlow struggled to score the initial goal and did not play to their usual form in either half not helped by a particularly defensive game played by the Away Team, however manage to slip two past the Keeper in the first half and a further 5 in the second. Harlow won first push back and began the first of many runs up the field towards the Phoenix Net. Dearman passed back to SDonaghey who passed right to Horrax who entered the D on a clean strike at the ball; Naidoo was quick to intercept and collected the pass, but in what turned out to be the first of by many altercations for the Harlow forward by the Away Keeper, the ball fell foul of the Keepers foot and was cleared from the D. Johnson Marshall on the left intercepted the preceding Phoenix hit out with a superb block; and passed back towards the Harlow Team who had now assumed position within the attacking third, but the ball was knocked wide by the Defence and Harlow were awarded a long corner. Horrax passed out to OFigg on the right line who passed top to SDonaghey who struck at the net, Phoenix Defence blocked the ball but it hit a foot and secured Harlow their first short corner; SDonaghey successfully converted with a knock left and straight swipe upon receiving the ball from NDonaghey. Phoenix played largely to the wings, and when a 16” was collected by the Phoenix forward the Harlow Defence pulled back to block the assault on the Harlow third; Care making the initial tackle switched the ball right and ran up to the midway line, passing forward to Dearman, a pass to debuting player Chapman was successfully collected by the newbie who passed into the D to Taylor who swung at the goal; the ball was cleared but Naidoo was quick to recover the rebound and a swift strike saw the Host Team go 2-0 up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a half time team talk, Harlow upped the tempo and made a speedier start to the second half, with Naidoo scoring her second and Harlow’s third after a straight run from an intercepted pass from Johnson-Marshall on the left. The Away Team broke right on the preceding push back and incredible defensive work from NDonaghey and OFigg in the centre and right Defence respectively cleared the ball and sent the pass back to the top left corner of the D. Ninomiya, in only her second match of her career collected the ball and executed a fantastic run towards the D; when intercepted the young forward battled bravely against a stronger Phoenix Defender, winning the ball and passing top to a well positioned Johnson-Marshall, who running into the D, placed the ball firmly on the backboard to the left of the Keeper, making Harlow 4-0 up. A preceding goal from an unstoppable Taylor in the D following a clearance from NDonaghey at the back gave Harlow an unbeatable lead and the Attacker continued her assault when superb defending from OFigg on the right forced a sideline error from Phoenix; OFigg passed forward to Dearman, then right to Horrax and then to Naidoo who passed to Taylor, swiping at Goal and hitting the net and taking Harlow to 6-0. A determined Phoenix temporarily broke back in the following minutes however, and when an unlucky tackle from SDonaghey outside the D ended in a short corner to the Away team, Harlow pulled together to clear the ball from the Defending third. When Harlow pushed up and a shot on goal from Horrax from just inside the D fell short of the goal, Phoenix struck wide, the ball deflected from Dearman’s stick, to prevent a sideline pass to the Away Team so far down the pitch a speedy Care collected the stray ball, running it back towards the centre of the pitch before striking forward to Dearman; this pass was collected by SDonaghey who moved swiftly into the D through the Phoenix Defenders before striking at goal; the deflected shot was recovered by Johnson-Marshall to the left of the D who struck cleanly at the Keeper scoring the final goal of the game.
