Math peeps, a quick question: is there a textbook for introductory calculus that is standard, or at least more likely than others to be used in most introductory calculus classes? (If not, what would you/do you use?) For comparison, the text Ive often used in my physics classes, and know is popular elsewhere, is Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker. So I guess what Im asking is what text are students in my class likely to have seen before they come to my class. Id like to have a look at that calculus book. (No big complaints, I just want to see more about how they are prepared to do calculus for physics.)
