Mather Hits Out At Unfair Treatment Posted on August 2, 2013 by billmcmurdo Like other Rangers fans I am disgusted with the disproportionate treatment handed out to my club compared to Hearts and Dunfermline. I am pleased to see that Rangers CEO Craig Mather has made a statement in response and that he wants clarification on the matter. Having said that, I would like to add a cautionary comment. I don’t think it is a good thing for Gers supporters’ righteous anger to become a bloodthirsty desire to see other clubs get hammered. We can’t decry the horrendously savage sentences meted out to Rangers as unjust and excessive and then demand others get them. Two wrongs don’t make a right and to continue perpetrating ridiculous punishments on clubs that are on life support is not the way forward. But there is another reason for not pursuing a witch hunt against other clubs that have hit hard times, even if those clubs were involved in one against ours. It is this: We are Rangers. We are better than them. You won’t beat the petty, jealous, spiteful bottom-feeders that inhabit Scottish football by becoming as mean and small-minded as them. Me, I’m actually quite happy that the discrepancy in punishments is so starkly clear. Now the whole world can see the bigotry and hatred directed at Scotland’s biggest, most successful and best-attended club. The haters know they have no leg to stand on and that their integrity is shot to bits. That they have to live with themselves knowing who and what they are is in many ways the best revenge. ——————— I see the Daily Record is further exposing the so-called Labour Indy movement as nothing much more than an SNP front. This is on top of Better Together revealing the shocking – if not surprising – deception of Salmond’s stormtroopers. These people will clearly employ every sneaky, dirty tactic to con people that their separated Scotland will be a utopia of freedom and prosperity. We can tell what kind of Scotland we will have just by looking at their dirty, underhand tricks. I have no doubt that desperate moves like this will be seen in increasing frequency as we near next year’s referendum date. There is one simple way to ensure that such propaganda fails. Vote NO to the deceivers. ———————————– Great result again for St Johnstone as they continue their storming of Europe. The Saints have once more given themselves the advantage of a marvellous away win, this time against FC Minsk in Belarus. Once again the Perth side have helped dispel the gloom around Scottish football with this fine performance. The Saints are marching in to the Europa League proper by the looks of it, while other Scottish hopefuls Motherwell look out of things after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Kuban Krasnodar. —————————– Celtic star Kris Commons and partner Lisa Hague have launched a plea for donations in memory of their stillborn daughter. Football fans are being asked to text pledges to the Lola Commons Fund for SiMBA, helping the couple as they try to raise money for special care rooms for grieving parents of stillborn babies in hospitals across Scotland.
