Matsumura-san in Fessenheim, France: We visited Matsumura-san in France this weekend. There was a big protest at the nuclear power plant, Fessenheim in Alsace, France. Fessenheim is located close to Germany, it was a joint-demonstration by French and German people. As soon as Matsumura-san arrived at the press conference place, he was immediately surrounded by people from the media, they didnt let him go during the event. Additionally many many protesters tried to get a chance to greet him, they were very grateful with what he had done after the disaster and having him in France. He sang a Japanese song with his friend Ren Yabuki, who came with him from Japan as a part of the project, and some Japanese staff. The song is called Furusato (Hometown), it is a special song for Japanese people particularly after the disaster three years ago. The French organizers tried to sing it together in Japanese. Later Matsumura-san made a speech on the demonstration car, he said I sang a song called Furusato (hometown) but my Furusato was destroyed by the nuclear power. Everything is over in my hometown. Next Fukushima could be here. Lets stop the nuclear power, not only in Fessenheim but everywhere in the world! His speech was translated into both French and German and people gave him big and long applause.
